I've been using MAX HOUSE for the last 10 years and had never had a bad taste like it has now and also have been experiencing headaches. Lately I have been drinking a cup of the Maxwell House Original Roast coffee first thin in the morning. The last two tins purchased in December 2009 were noticeably bitter. My wife, a tea drinker, immediately noticed a change for the worse in the aroma while brewing. Don't sell the public that crap---I'll pay for my coffee, even if I have to cut back on consumption! I drink folgers at work and no symptoms. I love coffeeI buy maxwell house and Folgers. Arsenic?? Picked up a can of MH Morning Boost yesterday. I'm glad I found his site, I had to give up coffee and switch to tea, it was making my stomach jump. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this themselves. The last couple years I've been having issues with nausea, diarrhea and headaches. We swear by it. Headaches in and out of restroom. This makes a smooth cup of coffee and has a deliciously sweet aroma. The rash would start out like a dry patch, then progress to small itchy blisters. No more problems. Fourth day tried Folgers again and instant symptoms. My aunt also used to get carsick after drinking Folgers. I manage to snag it and know if it hits me on the head it won't hurt! Because I like nothing other than their Columbian. The latte flavoring was purchased at a Walmart in Billings Montana. Bitter,acidyI cannot drink it. I've been as sick as everyone else . Over the last few years I too began having daily nausea, reflux, car sickness, stomach cramping, gas and diarrhea. While that may have been true in the sixties, today Folgers uses a blend of arabica and robusta beans which are sourced from various coffee farms all around the world. They will grind a pound for you and fresh coffee is always in a vented bag for great storage til gone. And it taste like grain. Instant, single 'tea bag' brewing, and full pots. After all this I jumped online to see if people were talking about it, low and behold I end up here. I bought a can of it about 6 months ago. That first cup was my last. I found this site by entering "Folgers and bathroom trouble." It is very different and horrible! Guess its time to shop for a different coffee. at first i was blaming him for making it wrong so he said 'do it yourself then.' Any ideas. The package is marked Original Roast and in small print under the seal is the strength. I have been a customer of Maxwell House coffee for several years. I am going to stop making coffee and see if his HA go away. The Maxwell House decaf brand does not claim a SWP certification, so it can be assumed that their arabica beans are chemically stripped with methylene chloride or ethyl acetate. CoffeeDetective.com. I looked up coffee reviews and found one by consumer reports that said 8 o'clock columbian coffee beats all the big guys hands down. Ive had this brand and roast before and the flavor was fine, but this had a taste of just bad coffee. Yesterday I woke up made a pot of Folgers coffee and felt slightly nauseous after drinking it. No brands were named. I threw it out and another time when it happened, I checked the can and I could see something tiny moving around in it. Decided to buy a can and MH was on sale so figured I would give them another try. Maybe there are fillers and quicker methods to meet demands that are cost effective. But I do miss my MH instant it always reminded me of my childhood,and my Dad . If you buy and serve this coffee, some will like it, and others will simply tolerate it. Folgers coffee has been on the market since the 1850s, and Maxwell house has been around since 1892, so both of these budget coffee corporations have been around for quite some time, providing American household coffee drinkers with ready-to-brew, freshly roasted and ground coffee. We noticed a bad taste and smell. The last can was the last straw. I kept saying I think it's the coffee & now after reading all the complaints I'm 100% sure. But no matter how you or they sum it up its still Taste over Aroma!:). I have to agree with many of these comments about the coffee problems I only saw one post about the gmo's with Monsanto. At first I thought my stomach grumblings were due to a stomach bug but the stomach cramps occurred within minutes of taking a few sips of every Maxwell House cappuccino I drank. It reminds me of the old Maxwell House coffee when it was smooth and pleasant to drink. I don't know what they are doing but I will never buy it again. Im sensitive to caffeine but love a good cup of coffee so I bought some instant, decaf Folgers. Still I kept buying Columbian. I They took it of the shelve awile back . Recently bought a can of Maxwell House Original Roast. The coffee was Chock Full O' Nuts brand though, i wonder if they are all owned by the same parent company.? Sad, sad, sad. Brought in a Giant bottle of Folgers the very next day. I've been using Maxwell House Lite for as long as they have been making it and before that it was Maxwell House original. I have had my last nasty cup. I have been drinking Folgers coffee for many years. MyMy family's Coffee for over 70 years was Maxwell.So you can imagine my surprise when I broke out in a TERRIBLE ALLERGIC REACTIONALL OVER MY BODY. We thought it was only because we made a pot with one bag, so we dumped that batch and made it with two. After several tests, docs are still confounded. Tea is also on the list. Mr. Folger searched the hills for gold for several years without much success, and eventually decided to abandon his quest. I need to find another brand, I will no longer be purchasing these two major brands. Maxwell House Medium Roast Wake Up Roast Ground Coffee has a consistently great taste; Made with 100% coffee beans; Great served black or with cream and sugar. ??? I don't believe parent companies of either of these coffees can depend on their past reputations for damage control---their damage is sitting on store shelves for sale. I have tried the other flavors and the gourmet is the one I like the best.I live in Maryland and wonder if this isn't a regional problem. I see people in the coffee isles searching/looking at ALL the coffees--Maxwell House & Folgers, then start looking thru the brands in the vented 12oz bags (which are mostly better coffees). Lately, I have been buying New England Coffee Breakfast Blend and I like it so much I buy 4 bags at a time now. I noticed a stronger, bitter flavor in the last 2 cans. If I didn't know any better I'd guess they took green, unripened beans and roasted them. I began my own research a couple of years ago and found the usual thousand diseases that have common symptoms such as celiac disease/gluten intolerance, etc. I used two teaspoons to make an ice cold Americano with cream. Often I left it cool enough before drinking and sometimes add ice if I'm in a hurry. Tap, bottled, filtered. I am going to stop drinking it to see if I get to feeling better. However, When I want to cut back on my grocery bill, I pick up Maxwell House Breakfast Blend; I think its like $4. There is something definitely wrong with Folgers and Maxwell House and I'm pretty sure they are using some additives in their coffee. (It happened to my mother). only small jars were available and in limited quantities. This last large can of Maxwell house, when I opened it, smelt soured and when I made the coffee, tastes sour. Hydrated with cola, no problem. I looked at ALL pre-ground in cans, major AND generic store brands, at my local grocery. I told her that I was too! I thought it was just the batch. I recently purchased Maxwell House and ever since my boyfriend and I have been drinking it I have had more headaches and he has had daily symptoms of nausea and a sick stomach. Over the last few weeks anytime Id try the class blend Id feel nauseous and get a bad migraine that would last all day. My coffee wasn't the Maxwell House or Folger's brand, but contained Arabica beans and who knows what else. Never again. I noticed my stomach was burning a whole lot more than it did prior to the 2 months. I can easily spot the blye canister on store shelves and will continue to purchase this brand in the future. I have been enjoying the flavored ground Maxwell House coffees (Hazelnut and French Vanilla) for well over a decade, and I notice now that neither tastes like the flavors they're supposed to and the coffee smells and tastes nasty. It was not until Proctor & Gamble bought the company that the brand started gaining popularity. 3-4 yrs ago I noticed the first sign of packaging getting cheaper---flimsier, looser fitting tops (not as snug a fit as before). Wow! What do they think? I am deeply saddened to discover that your International Sugar Free Coffee has aspartame in your ingredients! She brought one back and it tasted the same. Ive been drinking Folgers since I was raised by my grandparents who drank it but recently I've been getting migraines from it. These findings inspired Joel to partner with Roger Nolley Smith to create a new and better blend. Good luck!! real coffee ( mocha java) non flavored taste like coffee. It is bitter & smells awful. It has a bitter taste and is very strong even the medium kind. That had happened once before and they corrected the problem for awhile and sent me some coupons. So far it's doing pretty good. I have been fine with coffee for over a year drank it off and on prior to that, but daily for a year.
